Staunton Storm is a not-for-profit organization that strives to develop young athletes into baseball and softball players. At a young age, youth athletes must learn the fundamentals of the game and enjoy playing it. This will allow them to fall in love with the sport over time and create a lasting legacy for youths to come.
One thing that parents ask us all of the time is how my child can get better at the game. Of course, there are a lot of answers to this, but an essential thing a youth athlete can do is watch the game. Watching how the best players in the world play the game will help them develop a game sense. We would argue that understanding how to play the game is more important than physical attributes at a young age. Another important thing for young kids is to get out and play at home. Whether it is whiffle ball in the yard, hitting off a tee, or throwing a ball off a wall. These things can help develop many skills that your child will need as they grow.
